In tube arrangements, there transformer is also an element of traditions that are relative to the period of tube technology. In this mission, the preservation of classic solutions in the main power supply and vacuum tube applications is aimed at obtaining a specific sound. The prices of good quality anode transformers, and especially shielded ones, are not less for the cost of making a tube amplifier than the tubes and output transformers themselves.

However, the specificity of lamps is the spatiality of structures. Electronic phenomena and high impedance of the mesh circuits and a large slope of the gain characteristics take place, which makes them extremely sensitive to interference, both galvanically penetrating, and occurring in a large area of space surrounding the tube.
